Western Theological Seminary is an evangelical and ecumenical community of faith and learning in the Reformed tradition that serves the church of Jesus Christ.

Western equips women and men for Christ-centered, biblically-based, theologically integrated, culturally competent, and mission-oriented Christian leadership.

Fully accredited through the Association of Theological Schools, WTS offers credits fully transferable to any other ATS school or applied to your Pathways Competencies.

Master of Divinity

The WTS Master of Divinity program prepares women for ordained ministry. This hybrid online and in-person program also gives foundational training for ministries in mission, social service, evangelism, education, pastoral care, chaplaincy, and theological research.

The program is 87 credits and takes 3-5 years to complete, depending on the course load.

WTS offers five Master of Arts concentrations, allowing students to select the focus that most applies to their ministry context. The most popular - Master of Arts in Christian Studies - is fully customizable, with half of the credits made up of electives.

The program is 42 credits and, depending on the course load, takes the typical student 2-3 years to complete.
